Some Math word problems?

i cant figure these out please help

6. A submarine descended to a depth of 479 feet and then rose 320 feet. How far below the surface was the submarine and how would you represent this with a sign number?

7. Make up four problems using sign numbers. You can use sea level, savings and deposits in a bank account, the stock market, football yardage gained and lost, or anything that you choose.

8. Evaluate each of the following expressions using j=4,k=9,m=20, (5+j)2 梅 k + m2

9. The formula to change Fahrenheit temperature to Celsius is C= 5/9 (F-32). Change - 13 degrees Fahrenheit..to..Celsius degrees. Some Math word problems?
6) 479-320=159ft below sea level

9) (-13-32) * 5/9 = ((-13)+(-32))*5/9 =

(-45 * 5)/9 = -25CSome Math word problems?
can u ask one Q at a time? Some Math word problems?
6. Assume that the submarine is at 0 feet because that's the surface. It goes down 479 which means it is -479 because it is 0-479. Then add 320 and you will come up with the right answer. The sign is negative something. I gave you the sign just put in the something.

7. I'll give you an example. A person climbs to the top of a 63 m tree. The person then slips and falls down 26 m. Where is the person? Don't use this exact one but use this as a guide.

8. Fill in the blanks. Substitute 4 for j. Question should read

(5+4)2 divided by 9 + 2(20). If you need to remember order of operations, you can use this trick. My Dear Aunt Sally. Multiply first, then divide, add then subtract whenever you have a problem.

9. Replace the F with -13. the problem will read C = 5/9 (-13-39)

C= 5/9 (-52) Multiply it out with a calculator.

Hope you understand now. Some Math word problems?
As youj already know the signs are negative (-) and positive (+)...

the number 0 is in the middle...We're so used to counting, that you're probably thinking of just the positive numbers, and when we write them we don't write the %26quot;+%26quot; sign in front of them...

count ... 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6... and so on.

The negative 's are actually counting below 0... its the same but with a negative sign (-) in front....

Your word problems are kinda logic...

(6)... sea level or the level of the water is 0. I would just take the difference of the two numbers. Read the problem...will you be under or above the water?

(7) just make up some problems... how hard can this be???

Take some 's and add or subtract them!

(8) it tells you what the letters are equal to. Plug them in to the equation.

They probably taught you the order of equations.... or PEMDAS.

First anything in paranthesis, then exponents, then multiplying/division from left to right, then adding.subtraction from left to right.

After plugging the s in your equation would be:

(5+(4))*2 / (9) + (20)*2

Good luck with that one!

(9) same idea as the previous question. C is equal to the Celsius temp, and F is equal to the Fahrenheit temp. You're looking to solve for C.... they gave you the value for 'F' already... just plug it in and solve....

Good luckSome Math word problems?
6.it was 159 ft below and represented as -159'

7.morning temperature 15*C,noon temperature 18*C and night temperature 12*C

the variations w.r.t.the morning temperature +3*c and -3*c

an article costing $40 was sold in June for $45 and in august for $30

the income in July=+$5 and in august -$10

Italy scored 10 goals and France scored 8goals in the match between Italy and France

Italy's score=+10goals and -8 goals

my weight in January was 65 kg,in march 80 kg as and in July 70 kgs

w.r.t January the change in weight in march=+15 kg and in July +5 kg

8.(5+4)2/k +m2=2+40=42

9 -25*C
