How do you change from Celsius to Fahrenheit?

I was told once that there was a mathematical way of changing from degrees celsius to degrees fahrenheit. Anyone know how exactly?How do you change from Celsius to Fahrenheit?
multiply by 1.8 and add 32 degrees.How do you change from Celsius to Fahrenheit?
You'll get a million answers to this. It is a linear problem. We know that 0C = 32F and 100C=212F. Because it is linear, we need to produce:

y=mx+b

where m= the slope and b is the y intercept.

The Y intercept is easy. Since 0C =32F, the intercept is 32, right? After all, no matter what m is, mx =0 at 0C and we know y = 32, so b MUST be 32! Easy.

The slope is the rise over the run. So 212-32 = 180 degree %26quot;rise%26quot; for a 100 degree %26quot;run%26quot; is 1.8. So m=1.8.

Now let's check our work. For 0C:

32=0 x 1.9 + 32 (check)

212 = 100 x 1.8 + 32 = 180 + 32 = 212 (check)
