Use this formula to find the value of F when

The formula shows you how the two are related. As one increases, so does the other but not at the same rate, as in not 1 degree for 1 degree.
So...Fahrenheit is 9 times higher divided by 5 ( 1.8) times the value of Celsius minus 32 degrees ( the difference between freezing points. 32F is 0C)
The go backwards, C=5/9F-32.
A=86, B=32, C= - 40.
A is nothing special but B and C are interesting. If you look at B it is asking what is F when C is 0? From my explanation above, 0C is 32F. And C is interesting but if F increases 1.8 times the rate of C, there must be a point when they are equal, -40.Please Please Please will somebody help me work out this maths formula And maybe explain it to?
I am used to metric system so I do this in my head all the time (approximately):
a) Substitute 30 for C in the formula:
F = 9/5 * 30 + 32
Then use your calculator, or use commutative property of multiplication (I doubt you will needto acctually do this, but maybe it will help understand):
F = 30 * 1/5 * 9 + 32
= 30/5 * 9 + 32
= 6 * 9 + 32
= 54 + 32
= 86
b)
F = 9/5 * 0 + 32
= 0 + 32
= 32
c)
F = 9/5 * (-40) + 32................again, use calculator or
= -40/5 * 9 + 32
= - 8 * 9 + 32
= -72 + 32
= - 40................................ha! the only temperature reading that is the same in C and F
The other answerer got his A (which is a) ) wrong: 30 C is hot (for me).Please Please Please will somebody help me work out this maths formula And maybe explain it to?
Formula SHOULD be shown as :-
F = (9/5) C + 32
a )
F = (9/5) (30) + 32
F = 86
b)
F = 32
c)
F = (9/5)(-40) + 32
F = (-72) + 32
F = - 40
