hi plz help...i dont have a text book...plz no snide answers..thanks for your help!!!

1.) What is an explanation of heat?

Temperature

Total energy of moving molecules

Degree Celsius

2.) Can you have transfer heat by convection in a solid?

Yes, because the atoms are all in motion

Only for conductors of electricity

No, because convection requires the flow of atoms

3.) Why are car windows tinted?

So the people can feel important

To minimize heating the inside by radiation

Because tint is a poor conductor

4.) How did Fahrenheit determine 100 degrees?

He measured the boiling point of water

He looked at a thermometer

He measured his body temperature

5.) What temperature should your waterbed be?

Slightly higher than body temperature

Exactly room temperature

Near the boiling point of water

6.) Which material requires the least energy to change its temperature 2 degrees?

Ice, because it is colder

Water, because its specific heat is highest

Steam, because its specific heat is lowest

7.) How did Mpemba make this discovery?

He was observant and noticed something unusual when making ice cream

He was making ice cream and noticed it melted before he ate it

His teachers suggested he make some ice cream to prove the effectPlz plz plz help me...if u do u get 10 points!!! can u help?

1. Heat is the total energy of the molecules.

2. No. Convection means the material picks up heat by conduction, flows, and deposits heat somewhere else by conduction.

3. For any reason the car owner chooses. This is a poor question.

4. Mr. Fahrenheit thought the boiling of water was somehow the opposite of freezing, and opposite sides of a circle are 180 degrees apart, so he divided the thermometer into 180 divisions. Mr. Celsius divided his thermometer into 100 divisions because he though 100 was a nice number. Are you sure you read the question correctly?

5. What a goofy question! A water bed should be any temperature you happen to like!

6. Steam, because its specific heat is lowest. Ice does not change temperature until it melts, and it takes about 5 times as much heat to melt it as to change the temperature of the melted water.

7. Mpemba first encountered the phenomenon in 1963 in Form 3 of Magamba Secondary School, Tanzania when freezing hot ice cream mix in cookery classes and noticing that they froze before cold mixes.
